Interesting poster....

I saw this poster in at the hair salon, yes I go to a hair salon, it had an intersting quote on it. It made me think about life.

Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today.

James Dean

So, How does this playout in a daily walk with God?

I think it means that you dream as big as you want to and God will meet you and fulfill your dreams. It looks just like a dreamer walking along doing what God asks you to do even if it doesn't fulfill your dreams.

If you live like you'll die today then you live life to the fullest, living your passions for God and not regretting anything. Living like theres no tomorrow is the easyiest way to think about this.

Do any of us know how to do this?

So...

So I look around my life today and I wonder what it would look like if I had done things different. What would have happened if my dad wouldn't have left? What would I be doing if not for God and his never changing love, mercy and grace? If I had let Him interject in my life would I be the man I am today.

Anyways it's kinda fun to think about what my life would look like/be if not for the choices I made in life.

"This is your life, are you who you want to be,
This is your life , are you who you want to be.
This is your life, is it everything you dreamed that it would be
When the world was younger and you had everything to lose."

Jon Foreman

I think I can finally answer YES to those questions.

My Church......

So I go to this really cool church that loves to push the envelope of what church is. I run sound there a few days a week, play bass occasionally and get to hang out and shape the lives of some really cool teenagers and it certainly is a fun job(s) to do and I love how much they allow me to participate in the lives of a bunch of people trying to love God and let God love them. Yes it is tiring and I don't set healthy boundaries in what I do at church, everyone sucks at boundaries get over it, I love what I do.

My love for this church was very alert this weekend as Greg, our lead pastor, talked about what it looks like to take God to the world both here and abroad. I got the privilege to run sound this weekend and got to hear his talk four times. Every time I heard something I hadn't heard the other times, I love that. He also hinted at not running and hiding from culture but facing culture head on and embracing certain aspects of culture but, to be aware of culture that is not uplifting to God or us yet effects people.

If it weren't for my church I would not be the God fearing man I am today and I wouldn't have a ton of great friends who I want to hangout with for a long time.

It's truly amazing to me the work God does in my life through this church and the work God is doing through me.
